Tasted at the Left Bank Bordeaux tasting at the home of FreeTheGrapes 1/19/2005.

This wine was decanted for two hours. This wine is the third label of Château Pichon-Longueville-Lalande. It is available as low as $30 on wine searcher.

This wine had a very reticent nose, primarily of berries (raspberry?) and cherry. On the palate, this wine was light and not very concentrated, with a very weak middle and short finish. I am really not sure if this wine is still shut down, or perhaps there were provenance issues. Then again, it may just not be a very good wine. I would not rate this higher than the low 80s, though some of the tasters enjoyed it more than I did. The wine was not lacking in fruit, and nobody thought it was corked; it was just too thin for my tastes.

Mike
