| - 1995 Château Calon-Ségur - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe (12/29/2004)
Tasted at the WIML off-line at Speakeasy Supper Club. Like the '95 Pontet-Canet, this wine is still very, very young. However, this seemed to be giving up just a shade more fruit and complexity at the moment. On its way to greatness, probably by this time next decade. (93 pts.) | This was my No. 2 wine of the night. Way too young and tight right now. Even at that I scored it 94 pts. Hold. | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| this and the paitin were number 2 for me, but well behind the pontet. i feel this needs at least 5 years, and i'd probably wait 7-10 if i only had one more. i may have to get more of this and try again in the next decade. | | | |

| My sister is planning on bringing one of these up to my house this weekend, I believe she has a case so I suppose she can burn one! Would decanting for "X" amount of time be a benefit? And what does this "X" equal in this case? | | | |

| I know that Parker thinks pretty highly of it...and he's listed maturity between now and 2035. | | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/ | |

| I haven't had any succes with 95 vintage. I think it needs MUCH more time than it was originally thought. 96 on the other hand is drinking beautifully now! | | | http://NothingControversial.com | |

| I tried this several weeks ago and it was drinking beautifully, if still a bit youthful. It had been stored in a passive cellar which might have accelerated it's development somewhat. | | | |

| We decanted for 2 hours and that may of been a mistake. The nose was better upon opening but when finally tasting, it was pretty dull. We popped and poured a '94 Pichon Lalande that showed better. | | | |
