Brilliant dark ruby-red leading to a pink rim. A bit of barnyard on the nose, with cassis and floral aromas. Medium-bodied with smoke, plum, and cherry on the palate. 86 points.

Did the Barnyard character blow off at all?

With a bit of swirling in the glass, it did blow off slightly. The wine wasn't decanted, however, so with some more time it would probably clear up more.

I don't know how long this wine would hold up fruit-wise with extended aeration, however.
