| Notes from late December. $37. Decanted for 5 hours. Dark purple, but transluscent under incandescent light, deeply stains the Sommelier. Nose of black cherry, plum, cassis liquor, coffee, touch of soy, and vanilla. Full bodied and mouthcoating with very full, deep black and even some blue fruits on the tongue. Very dense but primal, there are, of course earth and tobacco tones here, but they are not distinct at this point. Moderate tannin and very, very well balanced. It is drinkable now but this really should be left to lay for 10 years. WS 89-91, RP 92-94, Me 91++ I've put away another 11 bottles of this since then.
