From 375ml, purchased for $100 from Premier Cru. Actually somewhat of a surprise. With a mid-shoulder fill I didn't expect much from this, but there isn't much '61 Bordeaux out there to sample at this price point so I said WTH. Cork removed whole. Mostly orange in color with a tinge of red to it still. Initially a lot of dust bunnies on the nose, but it broadened to include baked and dried cherries, truffles and black olives. Medium bodied and mostly dried red fruits in the mouth, with a short, but clean finish. Of course it's probably 15 years past its peak, but it still is well balanced and somewhat of an elegant old drink. Often times I'm the only one who'll drink these pretty much OTH wines, but all three of us poured second pours. 84 points, drink now.

I had this out of a 750 size bottle a couple of years back. My note is a carbon copy of yours. A nice wine but well past it's prime. Nice note. I had this next to a Lynch Bages 61 and thought both were on the downhill slide. Considering these were 41 years old at the time I tasted them they were at least holding together. Faded but still with a little life left in them.

very interesting none the less

Cheers
