| Very dark deep wine. Not decanted. Bouquet of dark fruit and oak. Powerful attack. Initial tasting of cedar, spice, dark plum and currants. Strong tannins and heavy mouthweight coated soft palate, cheeks, and tongue with excellent dark fruit profile. Finish was modest. Bottle stoppered and will decant several hours for tomorrow. 88.

| | Thanks for the note Dick, do you know if this is made with Idaho fruit or with Washington? I'm not sure about Hell's Canyon, but I know St. Chapelle and a couple others have some WA vineyards. | | | |

| The grapes came from the south facing slope along the Snake River in Idaho

| Thanks Dick. I haven't made my annual pilgramige this year so no new Idaho wines for me. | | | |

| Today, I decanted this wine for 6 hours to drop its tannin profile. It has a deeper plum flavor, and is somewhat more acidic than yesterday. A nice wine.
