N.V. Gruet Demi-Sec - USA, New Mexico (5/15/2007)
WIML82,PURPLENR,NOWA,~WS80-86

Tasted May 15, 2007 at home. Opened and served immediately. Light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout with a large mousse. Nose of Granny Smith apples, pear, ginger and almond paste. Flavors of tart apples, pears, citrus fruits and little red cherry on the finish. PURPLE specifically picked up on some pineapple and mango. Light to medium acidity and body. Drink now. Although far from an ethereal experience this is a decent, American made sparkling wine. Based on the direct from winery price of $13.50 per 750ml I’d say the value here is acceptable. (82 pts.)
