| I've waited several years to see if this Idaho wine could deliver on the promise I saw in it when it was a tannic acidic disjointed child. Deep purplish red, too dense to transmit light. Bouquet of cedar and dark fruits. Initial mouthfeel medium weight, amply acidic, with greatly softened chewable tannins. Remarkably smooth now, with black raspberry and black currant accents, a hint of tobacco, and a trace of mocha. Finish is above average in duration and is complexly delicious.
We all know that not all good American wines come from California, Oregon, and Washington. I have followed this vineyard for years, and although they have had some superior merlot efforts, being patient with this cab really paid off. Give this one an 88 and understand that Idaho makes more than just taters.
