| We visited this beautiful winery 12 days ago and tasted the following wines. We were assisted by a knowledgeable and frindly gentleman whose name I neglected to write down.
2004 Riesling Reserve, 12.9% alcohol, $23- Beautiful pear nose, crisp pear and mineral flavors, a bit sharp, 85
2002 Chardonnay Reserve, 13.8% alcohol, $20- Oaky nose, tropical fruit, vanilla, and banana flavors, very nice, 89
2001 Gewurtztraminer, 13.8% alcohol, $23- Perfumed nose promised more than the wine delivered, not much flavor, 80 (for the great nose)
2000 Blanc de Blanc sparkling wine- Light toasty nose, fruity, good, one of the region's better sparklers, 86
2002 Vidal Icewine, $40- Honeyed nose, sweet, nice acidity, 91
2002 Riesling Icewine, $40- Light pear nose, perfectly balanced, delicious, certainly worth purchasing, 93
After Dr. Konstantin Frank and Hermann J. Wiemer, this was the best winery we visited on our trip. | | | |
