Solomon’s Island Winery Chardonnay (No Vintage given/evident, a MD winery)
Had this as a small tasting in a plastic cup at the National Oyster Festival near Leonardtown, MD last weekend. Always looking to calibrate my palate, I plopped down my three bucks and sampled this wine. This was actually not bad. Not good, but not bad. Nice simple fruitiness, this very obvious, direct and simple wine was entirely quaffable. It was served a bit cold, so perhaps this helped my experience, but I’d give it 80 points, maybe even up to 82. I was pleasantly surprised.

| I didn't even realize they grew grapes in Calvert County. I was visiting a friend down at Cove Point/Lusby over the weekend and saw that there was a winery there.
