It had a beautiful bright strawberry color and a soft nose of berries. Rich flavors of ripe berries and cherries melded with just the right sweetness and bracing acidity to produce a fine dessert wine. This is the best wine I've ever had from a region that produces mostly undrinkable to poor wines. 93

Well this is a red letter day. Board-o rates a Canadian wine in the 90s!

Board-O,

I noticed in another thread you said you've tasted quite extensivley at some of the vineyards in Niagara, Cave Spring specifically, they are widely acknowledged as producing the best riesling in the region, what's your take? I'm especially interested in knowing whether you tried their single vineyard riesling.

or is it really all as bad as everyone thinks on this board...........

Are you talking about their Ice Wine, Late Harvest, or their drier style? We've been there at least four times, the last of which we stayed at their inn and had a private tasting with Brian Kelly. We tasted just about everything they make.

I didn't like any of their dry wines. The best were drinkable, unremarkable 78-82 point wines.
