1993 Torii Yamhill County Pinot Noir T.N.

Very dark ruby. You’d never guess this is 11 years old. Earth and muted berry on the nose. On the palate there is an abundance of ripe blackberry and plum fruit flavors. Silky smooth tannins and a long fruit driven aftertaste. Very complex. Just what Pinot should be. 93 solid pts.

paulie, I've never had this wine, but I found the 1993 vintage one built for aging. The Evesham Wood Cuvee J was still going strong at last tasting.

Board-O,

I tend to agree with you on the ability of the 1993 ageworthyness of the fruit from Oregon that year. The 94's I've found are also doing well. Some better than others. The Domaine Drouhin from 94 was as classic as it gets. Again the key to finding the good Pinot is to be selective. If anything it proves that Oregon Pinot can age gracefully with the best of what Burgundy has to offer. At any rate I prefer Oregon juice to Burgundy juice. Burgundy has become too much of a mine field where Oregon has become more reliable. More bang for the buck is always a good thing.

Cheers,
Paul
