| 2002 Evesham Wood, Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Medium dark ruby color. Just after opening the nose seems tight and closed not showing much. After an hour, earthy blackberry and just a touch of mint. On the palate are flavors of bright strawberry, more blackberry and some vanilla from the oak. Nice texture and mouth feel. The berry flavors glide through to the finish where the tannins and acidity balance each other out quite nicely. This is a soft easy to take style that maintains it’s purity of flavors without being too heavy or too light. Good QPR @ $13.99-- ---89pts | | |

| An update
after another hour the nose really opened up quite nicly. There is a cherry component that was missing from before an hour eariler. Be sure to give this wine at least 2 hours in a decanter before serving. still 89 pts but now it's a solid 89 pts

| Matt Kramer wrote about this wine in the local paper (he writes a column every other week). He loved it. I tried it, and thought it was an 86 or 87 pointer. I just didn't get that much fruit out of it. Could have been a bad bottle. | | Heater Allen Brewing

| Do they still make the Cuvee J? I had my last bottle of the '93 about a year ago and it was impressive. | | | |

| Yes they do. I haven't had it in a couple of years, but I've heard good things. | | Heater Allen Brewing

| A bit off the topic, but I'm drinking a '94 Evesham Woods Estate Vineyard tonight. It's beautiful! Perfect balance, still lots of fruit, crisp acidity. 90 - 91pts | | | |
