1998 Bridgeview Reserve Pinot Noir

Medium ruby color. On the nose there is plum, a touch of raspberry and some sweet oak (very pinot like). On the palate there is more plum and ripe berry flavors. Nice complexity and texture, medium to full body. The finish is fruity with nice acidity and oak finishing things off quite nicely. Great QPR, bought at Cost-Co for $9.79 in Portland, OR. 88 solid points

Cheers,

No kidding? I've had some hideous Bridgeview wines in the past.

We visited several southern Oregon wineries and found their dry wines pretty poor. We didn't visit Bridgeview. I'm happy to hear they're making something decent.

James,

I was surprised myself. Their regular bottling of pinot noir is not very impressive (in fact I thought it sucked, ie the 99 and 2000). But the reserve 1998 at under $10.oo is not only well made and flavorful but an incredible value for an every day drinking wine. Pinot Noir is my favorite wine grape and has been for years and years. The best ones are from Oregon (you already knew that) but don't say that to those Cali-Pinot freaks.

cheers,
Paulie

I would like to try it.. I'm thinking the 98 is good because mother nature gave Oregon a bad fruit set. Crops were low all over the place, they had no choice but to crop at a reasonable level. Interesting.
