First off, stelvin screw cap. Decanted for an hour before first glass which was a Riedel Sommelier Burg. 13.5% alcohol is timid compared to some new Cal pinots so there is no related heat from this 2001. Cherry cola, candied cherry, sage and well integrated tannins. Lingering aftertaste which is nothing but pleasant. This is rock solid good but not unusual. mm90pts. Liked the 2000 a point plus better at this stage.
