2005 Carabella Pinot Noir - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Chehalem Mountains (8/2/2008)
WIML89-

Tasted August 2, 2008 at a retail tasting.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Still a little tight on the nose with some notes of briar patch, berries, black cherries and rose petals. Flavors of black cherries, cranberries and tart raspberries. Medium to bright acidity, Medium to firm tannins, medium to full body. Decant if opening now or continue to hold. Doesn't seem to be a typical Willamette Pinot Noir. If had tasted it blind I might have guessed this came from the Anderson Valley in California. (89 pts.)
