2005 Bergström Pinot Noir Cumberland Reserve - Willamette Valley, Oregon Decanted 2 ½ hr’s. Deep and concentrated nose of red fruits, briar patch and spice. The attack is very relaxed compared to the nose, leading to a rich bowl full of mixed berries featuring raspberries, dark cherry and some blackberry flavors with allspice increasing on the excellent finish. Finely textured tannins, ample acidity, and good balance with plenty of depth and structure, this is still very young, but should integrate nicely. Recommend 2-3 hr’s of decant time now, this needs another year in the cellar and should evolve nicely for many years. S92 8/27/2006

I cannot tell you how impressed I've been with Bergstrom's wines. The Cumberland is fantastic; the Shea Vineyard sublime.

Interesting to see a reserve level 2005 out there already. This is a vintage that all the winemakers love. Because of the late harvest, the grapes got tremendous hang time and the flavor development that goes along with it, but with low alcohol. I'll be buying as many as I can afford.
