2004 Domaine Coteau Pinot Noir - USA, Oregon, Yamhill County (8/12/2006)WIML91,PURPLE91,NOWA,WS91
Tasted August 12, 2006 at home. Opened and splash decanted about 1 hour before serving in a Spiegelau Authentis Balloon Magnum glass. Dusty rose color in the glass, slightly dusty looking throughout. Nose of black cherries, leather, maybe some mocha, spices/white pepper and raspberries. Flavors of black cherries, red cherries, raspberries and plums. Medium acidity, integrated tannins that are almost silky. Medium bodied. Well balanced overall. A pleasure to drink now but should drink well over the next 5-6 years. Based on my local retail price of $25.49 I’d say the value here is recommended. COMMENTARY: I know lots of people like to harange Harvey Steiman for his tasting notes but I have to tell you, he pegged this wine perfectly. Well done Harvey! The only fault I can find in your review is you should have recommended this as a Best Buy!
