This wine is 14.7% alcohol. The nose is very shy and it did not open during the one hour decant or the one hour drinking time. The flavors are intense with black cherries, plum, and some raspberry. There were some secondary flavors at the end that may have been leather. The finish is long and lingers a good 15 to 20 seconds. There is enough acid to pair with most foods and it is one of the few Pinots that I can say is chewy. At $28, it was a good but not not great wine.

For Duke Riley - have you tasted this one? Was the weather hot in 03? The alcohol number is the highest I've seen on an Oregon Pinot noir - not that I have seen a lot.
