| After a little aspirin upon opening, this bright, fruit-driven pinot($18 @ CostPlus) showed a quality level usually not found in the below $20 class. Complete with screw-cap, this pinot had a "modern," clean nose even if restrained and a lighter mouth feel. Cherry with only a small touch of oak. I enjoyed this wine with a light pepper-encrusted ahi tuna with basmati rice - the wine paired very well. I would try this wine again in 1-2 years in order to see how the stelvin closure compares with cork-closed pinots from the 2003 vintage in Oregon. | | |

| I've been moderately impressed with Argyle's bottom of the line stuff, for QPR. I've seen it as low as $14.99 around town, so it's a decent deal. | | | |

| Amen, and there should be adequate supply so that everyone gets a try. I wonder how many cases Argyle made of this wine? | | | |

| I'm usually disappointed by their lower end bottlings, although I do enjoy Nuthouse. | | | |

| Just got back from Fred Meyer (Tigard) with a stack of rib-eyes. Wine is on sale there for $14.99, but sold out. They also have the nuthouse (2002 - 93 WS), I believe price was ~$32. | | | |

| While I like Argyle's Pinots and Chards, I think the real bargain is their sparkling wine. The 1999 Brut is a great bottle for less than $20 - and I can even get it down here! | | Heater Allen Brewing

| Duke is right again. The Argyle 99 Sparkling is stunning for less than $20. Interestingly, the wine has a hazelnut background note. At least some of the grapes for the sparkler were grown in or near soils planted with hazelnuts. | | | |
