This is a low production (25 cases) syrah from Francis Tannahill. I hear that the vineyard is owned/farmed by Patty Green (the Vert in the name perhaps?). 13.2% Alcohol
Deep garnet color. Animal fat, plums, cherries, and some vague herbs (lavendar or violets) in the nose. The fruits continue on the palate with black pepper and some fine tannins in the nice finish. The wine lacks a little bit of body versus some higher alcohol versions. I liked the wine, but I'd love to see this blended with some of the bigger, but blander renditions to add some complexity. In fact Francis Tannahill's "Mason Dixon" is a blend of this wine with a richer syrah from Southern Oregon, and is a better wine IMO. 89 points

Duke - where'd you find this? I'd love to give it a crack. I love the Mason Dixon Syrah and their Roussane.

I bought it from Sam and Cheryl at their Memorial Day Open House last year. I have a few more...
I'm pretty busy until about the middle of June, but let's get together and drink some wine.
