| 2003 Patricia Green Cellars Pinot Noir Balcombe Vineyard - USA, Oregon, Yamhill County (3/6/2005) Opened, decanted, and started right off. Consumed over 3 1/2 hrs. Very fruity, young wine. Tastes of slightly under-ripe cherries, red licorice, tobacco with hints of leather and vanilla. Did not change much over the course of the evening. Quite enjoyable, and a great QPR. Fine now and over the next 3-5 years. 91pts with potential to improve. (91 pts.) Posted from CellarTracker! | | |

| Davidandrose,
Have you had the '02 Patricia Green Four Winds PN? If so was it similar to the Balcombe? Thanks for the TN.

| ItalianWino, I have not had the 2003 Balcombe, but I have had the 2002 Four Winds, and it is definitely different than anything else Patty makes. The Four Winds is almost always more "rustic" than her other wines, and this was particularly so in 2002. | | Heater Allen Brewing

| Has anyone had the 02 Balcombe? Have a couple in the cellar and wondering if I should break into them. | | | |

| I've had several. The last one I had was about six months ago, and it was drinking very well. I'm not sure if there is any real benefit to additional age... | | Heater Allen Brewing

| DukeRiley,
Rustic in a good way? Or was it offensive? Thx.

| If you like some stink in your Pinot, then you'll love it. If you like your Pinot to be antiseptically clean, you won't. I personally have no problem with it, but I wouldn't take a bottle to a tasting here in California because I know that some/many in the group will not like it that style. | | Heater Allen Brewing

| Thx for the update. I do like a little stink and earthiness in my pinot's. I'll have to pick up a bottle to try.
