2001 Belle Pente Pinot Noir - Yamhill Cty Estate . 13.7%.
good cork.
Dustry rose in color with a bit of turbidity. Nose of kirsh, raspberries and earth. Palate follows with some black fruits, spices, tarragon, and minerality. Then something happens on the finish. A surge of warmth, heat, tannins takes over. Throws off the balance of the wine. Its not the drying, puckering type of tannin, but rather a heated sensation. The alcohal in this wine is not particularly high so can't quite figure. Other than the finish, it was a very sold <$20 bottle of Pinot.
