No specific tasting notes, just some impressions. These wines are going to gain worldwide recognition in a matter of a couple of years, I believe. The Elk Cove, Willakenzie, Ponzi, and others are all good, sturdy, flavorful, well-constructed wines. I've only had one out of maybe 10 or 12 that wasn't an 88 to 90 point wine. I don't remember which one I didn't care for, but I had it recently and it carried a little too much sweetness for me.

I've tried the WillaKenzie '01 Pinot Gris and echo your comments. A nice wine, well-crafted with no oak . Also some dynamic apricot, lime and generous acidity. $20 is possibly a bit high but it wasn't out of the ballpark with regards to its quality.

Board-O

Had something called Evolution, I believe from Sokol-Blosser, at a restaurant AZ in NYC. Thought it was pretty good, but no more remembrance than that. Is that a PG?

I have no idea. The King estate Reserve PG is $15 and it's fine. I have two more bottles of it and I could open one on the 7th, but I'm not so sure we can shoehorn another bottle into the lineup. I think the Elk Cove was $10.

Dr. T, Sokol Blosser Evolution is a blend of 9 differnt white grape varietals. No chard though, which is probably why you liked it. I had it first at AZ as well and bought a couple bottles when I saw them on a shelf at home. Retails for about $12. Very interesting wine. I like it.

So the January TAA choice didn't surprise anyone, did it?
