| Served this wine with grilled sturgeon and planked salmon.
The bottle was opened, poured, and left to breath for 45 minutes before dinner.
Deep garnet color with no sign of browning. Moderate cherry aromas that continue on the palate, but are soon overwhelmed by the relatively intense structure of the wine. A stern wine. Moderate length.
Although well made (no off flavors or aromas), this wine was so tight that it is hard to imagine it opening up before the fruit is gone. If I had another bottle though, I probably wouldn't open it for 3 to 5 years just to see how it develops. 83 points. The bottle was a gift, but I believe the retail price was around $45. | | Heater Allen Brewing
