This wine was made by Patty Green before she left for her own winery, but was blended by Joe Dobbes, former winemaker from Willamette Valley Vineyards.

Medium garnet color, cherries and raspberries in the nose, with a hint of vanilla. Concentrated cherry flavors on the palate supported by a lively acid foundation, with a long finish. While a great wine now, I believe this will improve for several more years. 91 points. I paid $18 for this a year ago.

Wow. $18 seems like a good price... I thought most of the torii mor was in the $40 price range, with the exception of the estate wine.

It was. The story I've heard is that last year Torii Mor ran out of their bottom end Willamette Valley wine very early. A number of local restaurants were disappointed (angry) since they had just put it on their wine lists. Torii Mor made the decision to sell some of the Amelia Rose locally to fill that demand. I'm told that they decided to use this wine because it wasn't a vineyard designated wine, which are supposed to have more 'cachet' in the market. Some friends of mine found out and we all picked up a bunch of it at the wholesale price, plus 10%. I still saw it elsewhere after that for $40+.
