| Purchased on release for $17.
Pale straw color. Flourishing aromatic floral aromas, with some wheaty notes. A very lush and rich pinot gris. So much fruit it almost seems off-dry (but it's not), with peach, honeydew melon, and green apple flavors. Finishes with a trace of chewy almond. Probably the best example of this varietal that I've ever had from Oregon. Drink now. 90P
Cheers,

| otis, I don;t know about the 2000, but the 2002 was done in stainless steel. My notes:
"tropical fruit nose, viscous, rich, 90"
The neutral oak barrel fermented 2001 Reserve was even better:
"pineapple and kiwi nose, creamy, 91"
Chehalem and Elk Cove are my favorite US producers of this varietal. Keep your eyes open for the Elk Cove. | | | |
