I gave one of these to Vitis Vinifera a couple years ago, and when he tried it, it had a serious reduction problem. I tried one soon after and found the same thing. With much trepidation I pulled out another (hey, need to try something with the remaining bottles that I have) to try, along with a back-up.
Decanted 45 minutes before serving. Clear, medium garnet color. Blackberries, blueberries, cinnamon, and a few oak notes in the nose. Rich, concentrated blackerries and blueberries that start on the fore-palate and continue all the way to a very long and lingering finish. Good balance and structure.
This is a completely different wine than the one I had over a year ago. Now I need to ask the winemaker how he bottles, because I can't believe this came from the same blending vat as the last bottle I had. This bottle - 92 points, this wine - who knows?
