We dined at the Colvin Run Tavern in Tyson's Corner, VA this past week. Colvin Run is the Virginia restaurant of Kinkead's (of Washington DC), famous for their seafood fare. My wife and I had a reason to celebrate as we just bought a townhouse, and a last minute reservation brought us here. This wine was served in proper Burgundy stems.

Domaine Serene 2000 Pinot Noir Evanstad Reserve ($91 off wine list)

Aromas of dark cherries, ripe raspberries and earth from the dark, ruby-colored wine. Wonderfully balanced Oregon Pinot with red fruit, earth and faint pine notes. Would like to see a little more aromatic forwardness, but still a nice wine. Drinking well on this evening, especially great with my Duck Chacuterie appetizer. 91 points.
