This wine was released a couple of weeks ago, and I've had it several times since. It is made from the wine that doesn't make the cut for the single vineyard stuff along with some of the younger vineyards where he gets grapes. It retails for $17.

This wine displays concentrated aromas of raspberries and cherries, with a little earth in the background. On the palate, the cherries come to the front along with some floral notes. The wine is nicely concentrated, has a firm mid-palate, good structure, and a nice long finish. My only complaint would be a slightly detectable streak of bitter (oak?) in the finish that I expect to disappear with a little time. Very nice now, but will be better in a year or two. 91+ points. Drink 2005 - 2010.
