| An Oregon designation because some grapes come from the non-appelatin Columbia River Gorge on the Oregon side. Peter Rosback, the winemaker, told me he thought Oregon pinot gris improves with one or 2 years. He recommended buying the new releases and holding a year or 2, contrary to the more universal thought of Oregon pinot gris being best consumed shortly after release. I saved a bottle and had it tonight with some Penn Cove mussels. Delightful. The fruit is a bit subdued, but is a good way. Melon, lemon and citrus. Nice finish. I can not argue with Peter, and would be foolish to try. 89 points for me. | | |

| Mark, I haven't had the '01, but we tasted the '02 with Peter at the winery last Summer. My notes:
"nose of tropical fruit, nice, 89" | | | |
