Alas I ended up with the ’01 instead of the ’00 for the January TAA. Upfront I’ll admit that there might have been a food conflict with this wine because it ended up tasting like a sauv. There was some apple on the nose and in the middle but mostly we got a real grassiness and grapefruit finishing with some bitterness.
As I noted there was a potential food conflict or it could have been bottle variation. I’ve really enjoyed most of the Oregon Pinot Gris so it is not a “varietal” issue. Because our outcome was so different than the notes posted on the 2000 I will probably buy another bottle.

| | I would actually recommend trying the non-reserve 2001 as well. I find it is often better (at least as good) than the reserve at a lower price. | | | |
