$120 if I recall correctly. Perhaps it was the "low season" price. | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/

| | Wow. Great price. Were you able to have it decanted, or just pop and pour? | | | |

| They decanted it after I asked. I don't want to say it was a little tight, but when I tasted it, my lips peeled back around the other side of my head. | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/ | |

| | We had that wine in the living room of the owner with him and his wife in July, 2003. He opened the bottle and poured us each a glass. With no breathing at all, I couldn't find any charm in the wine. | | | |

It definitely needed some time. It opened faster than I thought it would, but I certainly would rather give it a few more years. | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/

With no breathing at all, I would think that assessing wine would be the least of your problems.
Reminds me, must update my ACLS

| | wow - sorry I didn't notice this thread before posting my question on the 2001 QC thread. A local retailer emialed me that they have the 2000 at $64 a pop - sounded like a very good price...and after reading this thread I say yes - I think I'll pick up a few.... | | | |

| Winoman - at that price, it's doubtful you can go wrong, even if WA 'only' gave it 94 points. | | | |

| | Deep burgundy with the tightest nose to date(tasted 3 bottles since release). Blueberry. blackfruit, oakspice and a weird peppery element(bellpepper). Medium plus bodied, medium plus concentration with more blueberry, cassis, blackfruits and oakspice. Balanced, but young with fine grain tannins. 91pts. | | | |

| | This is my first Quilceda Creek and boy was I disappointed. I decanted for 3 hours and drank it over a period of 4 hours. On the nose, the wine was very exciting and exhibited nice aromas of black currant, tar, licorice, leather and a little blueberry. However, on the palate, the wine was very thin and showed blackberry, vanilla and tobacco. It was also a litle hot at first, but that went away by the end. Finish was non-existent. Hopefully, I had an off bottle or I opened it way too early. 88 pts. | | | |
