1999 Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon - USA, Washington (6/15/2008)
WIML94,PURPLE93

Tasted June 15, 2008. Opened for Father's Day to serve with a salt crusted beef tenderloin. Life is good.

Opened and decanted about 1 hour before serving. Didn't really start hitting it's stride and taking on secondary aromas until around the 2 hour mark. Purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Tight on the nose up front giving way to notes of florals, leather, rose petals, currants, plums and a bit of cappuccino that later smelled more like roasted coffee. Flavors of plums, currants, rich black berries and a dash of cocoa powder. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannins, full bodied. Drink now with a decant or continue to hold. Sticking with my previous rating. (94 pts.)
