| | I opened a 2000 Reserve Cabernet last night and it was drinking very well. I would say this will last for at least 5-6 more years, maybe longer. The way it drinks now is pretty good. I don't see a reason to wait unless you want to see how it develops over time. | | | |

| first of all welcome to vc dbw.
yes bud is right i have been drinking these wc's and some reserves for the last couple years. imo the reserve cab is a different animal than the walter clore. the clore usually has high 40%ish merlot in it which gives it a much more easy going manner. the 99 clore is better than the 00 clore. imo the 99 clore should sit while you are drinking the 00's. as for the reserve cabs the 00 is a great bottle well deserving of 91-92 pts imo. this bottle needs either a couple hours decanting or a 1-3 mores years in the bottle. i agree with tw that it is peobably going to be a 6-10 wine at the most but for $$$ it is a great wine. i haven't had the 01 but it is on my radar. imo the reserve line of wines from cc are great bottles. i don't know how they do it but they do. in fact i would take a cc wc or rc anyday over a over most $50-$60 cali cabs. | | | |
