Purple, moderate intense nose of pepper, cedar, spice, blackberry and bitter chocolate.  Full body, moderate acidity and high tannin.  Matching palate, balanced. 91pts.

You gave these guys decent scores across their line. Is it a new winery?

The winery has been around for a few years. The new wines are of a much higher caliber because Steve Clifton is now making the wines. These are WA wines for the table and won't ever be the QC 100pt monsters.

Thanks for the info re: Steve Clifton. I like a lot of the wines he makes (inc. Palmina). The Ash Hollow wines seem to be reasonably priced as well.

When did Clifton start as their winemaker?

I think the 2004 vintage, if not, 2003.
