2003 Columbia Crest Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Estates - USA, Washington, Columbia Valley (1/6/2007)WIML86,NOWA,NOWS
Tasted January 6, 2007 at home. Needed some wine for braising beef short ribs so this was it and a tasting ensued. Opened and served about 90 minutes later in a Spiegelau Authentis Rot Wein glass. Garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of black cherries, black pepper, smoke and roasted meat. Palate was a bit “muddled” with flavors emerging of red cherries, red berries, light plum notes and maybe a touch of mocha on the short finish. Light to medium acidity, tannins and body across the boards. Drink over the short term. Decent QPR at about $8.00 a bottle.
