| 2/10/2006 rated 89 points: Tons of cola, with a smattering of cherries, vanilla and well-integrated oak on the palate. Light to medium bodied, some coffee notes appeared in the midpalate later in the evening. Not a particularly long finisher, the tannins became progressively drier as the night wore on.
Very pleasant wine, but it seems to be drying out a bit. I will drink my remaining bottle this year.
3/17/2006 rated 84 points: Not drinking even as well as the prior bottle. Still lots of cola, but a dried tomato edge to it, finishing very dry and tannic. Tannins are overwhelming the fruit. Drink 'em if you still got 'em.

| I only found one bottle of the '98 years ago, and remember enjoying it much more than the '99. Then again, maybe my memory is off, but it does not sound like it. Both of these were received as gifts.
