This one is just now taking on some secondary characteristics but the oak is still dominating the wine. It is quite pleasant to drink with coffee and dark and red fruit and reasonable balance. I question whether the oak will ever subside enough for the rest of the wine to shine even with additional aging. We have a few more bottles so only time will tell. (90 pts.)

Potential for 91+ points but isn't there yet. This wine has an interesting herbal note throughout, probably due to the large % of cab franc. At 14.4% alcohol this wine displayed balance but currently lacks unique characteristics that will elevate its score. [~$40 on release; decanted 30 minutes] (90 pts.)
