Opened last night, found this to be fairly enjoyable..........nice nose of unripe plums and black cherry with a slight white peppercorn tickle.........it has a smooth, very creamy, medium bodied texture, mid level extraction, and flavors of cherry, plum, cedar, essence, and a slight hint of vanillin. I liked this, but it is very obvious that this is a cool climate Cabernet. I was looking for a little bit more texture and a little more fruit added to the structure to balance the somewhat in-your-face tannin, which is oddly even more prominent today. I would give this a few years to rest and once the tannins smooth out I think it will improve significantly, as long as the fruit does not fade. If you can find it for under $35, I would grab a bottle. 90 points | | | |
