| The final wine of my birthday meal. WOW! Super-rich and thick. Thick like honey. Honey, lavender, white flowers, caramelizing brown sugar and orange blossom soar from the glass and transfer seamlessly to the palate. This needs to be served relatively cold (45 degrees, say) for the acid to really come out to brace the surreal amount of fruit this thing has. The finish goes on for nearly a minute, maybe more. Unbelievably, this is one of the two greatest expressions of sweet Riesling I have ever had -- and this is from Washington state! I could justify an even higher score if this showed just a hint more complexity and/or structure. This is full throttle decadence. 95

| Whiner you might want to add "Chateau St. Michelle" as the winery.
I've had this wine and it was one of the thickest wines I've ever had. I thought it merited about a 94-95. With a touch more acidty its score could even be higher. | | | |

| winetex, I completely agree with your assessment. I've noted that the wine is made by the parternship between Loosen and Chateau Ste. Michelle but I couldn't fit the entire words into the title
This is not the only Eroica wine, butman is it better than their basic Riesling that I scored an 82 the last time I had

| Is is true that this is the most expensive American made dessert wine? I hope to someday try this. Thanks for the TN. What vintage is the current release on this?

| IW,
I'm not certain how much every US desert wine is, but I think this is about $200/375ml so it is certainly possible. A close friend opened this for me on my birthday, that's how I got to taste it. I don't know what the current release is but I think it is 2001.

| It sells here in Louisville for about $175. Someday I hope to try it.
