2000 Covey Run Barrel Select Cabernet Sauvignon
This wine is just a quaffer. I found it on sale @ $4.99 per bottle. I was not expecting too much. You know, lowered expectations and all that. But at that price, why not?
Black ruby color. Not too much on the nose. Tight black berry and spicy oak dominate. A slight bit of green and herbal notes on the palate but this opened up some after the first hour. A little more black berry came out in time. The finish actually is not bad at all. A little over-spiced but drinkable just the same. 83pts----------at the price though it's very drinkable. Needs a good steak or maybe a nice pizza..
