Just a quick note from a freshly shipped bottle that was opened and tasted immediately and only briefly. Rich nose and palate of black fruits. Great balance and mouthfeel. Only potential criticism is the finish suggested some unripe tannins. My initial impression is that at $42, I should snag a few of these. I will re-try in a few weeks after the wine has had a chance to settle down, give the wine proper air time and see what I really think.

Had this wine with MTpockets the day after Thanksgiving. I cannot remember exactly, but I think the blend is 44% Merlot, 28% Cab Franc, 18% Cab Sauv, 10% Petit Verdot. This wine is very good with loads of character running deep with great intensity of red fruits, raspberry liquor, and spicy nuances. Some smokey oak on the finish filled with rich fine grain tannin. Perhaps a touch too sweet, but none the less a good red wine. 92 points.

Are the 02 Andrew Wills inferior to the 01s? I was floored by the 01 Ciel du Cheval and Champoux, but only mildly impressed with the 02 Champoux (haven't had the 02 horse heaven). I'd appreciate feedback from anyone with sufficient experience to assess these vintages.
