| Tasted at the Atlanta Joja Crü offline on 3/22
TN descriptors are just a compilation of everyone in attendance -- GolfZinNust, PourQue, Ddb, mattach and myself.
Charcoal Charred beef brisket spicebox (rosemary transmogrifying into cardamom) barnyard, but not the 'poo' variety cigar strawberry cream a little nutty cotes du rhone-ish
I really enjoyed this wine and would rate it 92 pts | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com

| I'll have to wait for mattach to weigh in here. I forget if there was a specific bottling mentioned. My notes, uh, weren't so good.
BTW, your Pens will at least have the greatest % chance to get the first round pick, then. Lucky you! | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com

| The Pens screwed up last night and beat Atlanta. This can cause a meaningful last game with the Caps. The Pens have the Caps locked out, but the Blackhawks could out-swoon them by dropping their last two, coupled with a Pens win over the Caps. I plan to suit up for the Pens on Sunday, and they will be selecting random players from the crowd. | | | |

| Dave Mci,
It was the 2000 Cailloux vineyard - my fav of all of Christophe bottlings. Am opening an En Cerise later this week - should be awesome.

| I suspected it was Cailloux. We had the '01 last week. My notes are similar, but different .
We decanted for three hours. Big cigar box nose; smokey blackberry and creamy blueberry with a long, sexy finish. Absolutely luscious.
One of my favorite vineyards as well, Christophe took a bunch of out there (Enoselsa!) and I have a stone (cailloux) from the soil. It's still warm.

| | TJ's notes neglect to mention that this wine took a long time to open up. We opened the bottle early on in the night, and it was a bit disappointing. After a couple of hours, this stuff was fantastic. This would jibe well with your notes, QoH. I remember picking up some smoke in the nose and in the midpalate (that's one of the few things I remember about that night). | | | |

| | This is a well-crafted wine. Less effusive than some of the Cali offerings and I liked it for that. I had this in the low 90s, as GZN notes, after it opened up. | | | |

| | Dave, unless you have a few, wait a couple more years. Not too long, though. | | | |

| | I'd agree - will be even better in 3-4 years if you can wait. | | | |

| | Hmmm...it would be interesting to do a side by side comparison of Cayuse's syrah's with Copain's Callioux & Coccinelle syrah (fruit from Cayuse's vineyards). I've never had the pleasure of a Cayuse, but Copain's C&C is first rate syrah. | | Ladd Cellars | |

GZN, I'd forgotten about that. But yeah, my rating was for it's showing later in the evening as it'd opened up. | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com

| I thought this was familiar. This wine was the winner of one of the Parsec Cup events last May. My note can be foundhere.
The lineup of wines for that night can be foundhere.

| | We had this tonight (the '00) with spicy pulled pork from the Steel Pig BBQ in Seattle. Amazing how it stood up to BBQ. Stunning. | | | |

| Anyone have recommendations on which wines to order from their mailer for the 2003 vintage? THis is my first year so will not get the top three limited wines but will try for the others on recommendations. | | | |
