| first off let me say I have absolutely nothing to do w/cellartracker except I started using it this wknd. Cellartracker www.cellartracker.com is put together by Eric Levine who is an ebob regular to track your inventory. I now know for sure that my inventory is currently:
52% USA
32% France
7% Australia
5% Portugal
4% Italy
-where is Germany?!? doesn't seem right, I will have to look into that. Anyway I think it is great software-you can add tn's sort tons of different ways and is really easy/intuitive to use-I am not a computer guy.... | | |

For those looking for purchase summaries to compare to the consumption summary, I have glimpsed the future and it looks like these pages:

Basically I am starting to expose a much more customizable set of pivoted (grouped) reports for all of the data types on the site: inventory, tasting notes, consumed bottles and purchases. So real soon now I will expose consumed bottles and purchases.
NOTE: these reports are a bit slow for guests who are browsing the ENTIRE database. Still working on making those snappier.
NOTE2: I still need to enable easy sorting as well as to expose a broader set of pivot parameters. But play with these for minute, and you will see where I am going. | | | |

The site is shareware, optional payment only, guaranteed to be such through 2005. | Thanks very much - never thought my name would be the lead in for a story in the Wall Street Journal. I am a big fan of vinfolio. Its a huge improvement in cellar management software as well as sales/acquisition of serious wines.
MTP - Considering how long the physical inventory is taking it still might not be finished by the next time you are here. However once it is done and everything is barcoded it will feel good to know exactly what is where - opening boxes that have been buried for awhile is telling me there are a lot of wines that need drinking now. | | | |
