A bottle of Penfolds Grange!!!! (1997) Not the best Grange vintage I am sure, but it was a total surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Ain't Mrs. TJ great?!

I got a six piece Rabbit Corkscrew set (bottle collar, wax whacker, bottle stop, foil cutter, extra worm, and the Rabbit Corkscrew), and a bottle of 1999 Strerling Three Palms Vineyard Merlot from my brother-in-law who knows nothing about wine. I think he did fine.

I got the Robert Parker Wine Advisor and Cellar Management - Deluxe Edition. Great gift as it has all the WA copies from 1992 through the beginning of 2002. I only have them back a year or two, so this is very welcome.

I also got 2 bottles of wine. They are the 1999 Jamet Cote-Rotie and the 1993 Haut Brion.

Santa was very good to me this year.

oooooh, Eric, the '99 Ornellaia...I'm jealous. I'm sure you'll enjoy that one, whenever you get around to opening it.

Actually, I don't know yet.
The only 'wino' in the family is my brother, and we're going there today.
He's never had a bottle of Kistler, so I'm bringing him a 97 Vine Hill Chard.
I expect he will respond in kind (hoping for a 97 CSJ Cinq Cepages),
and then some!

I got a bottle of Fonseca 10 year tawny and two wine magazine subscriptions: WS and Wine Enthusiast. Maybe I can drink the port in front of the fireplace, if you catch my drift.

Parker's 6th Edition (Wine Buyer's Guide) and his Bordeaux book (1961-1997).

Also got a wine 'cooler,' some wine tags, and a whole mess of wine I bought for myself.

Got the expected array of various wines and wine related books, etc.

Had my Sister and Bro-in-Law smuggle up 2 cases of wine from California (Lodi area).
In particular...'99 & '00 bottlings of Vino Con Brio 'Matzin' Zinfandel made by none other than our own Vitis Vinifera.
My partners-in-Crime...co-conspirators Seaquam and Mishy will be receiving their allocations just as soon as I can arrange it.
Very much looking forward to trying this Zin made from 58 yr. old vines.
