| | Does anyone know specifically, month etc that Amarone della Valpolicella and Recioto della Valpolicella Amarone were upgraded to DOCG?
I am updating my notes and can't seem to find the exact month, year.

| | Maybe a trick question of sorts. I had three people tell me that they had gained DOCG. I had thought it was still just DOC, with it being in the process since February of 2005 when they lowered the yields and changed the % varietal make-up. I personally hadn't heard it had made it through the final process, nor could I find anything on it from any of my many resources. I was hoping if so, someone here knew about it. Seems strange that Colli Orientali del Friuli "Picolit" and "Picolit-Cialla(2006) and Oltrepo Pavese (2007) have both gained DOCG before Amarone and Recioto delle Valpolicella. Of course I gave up trying to understand the DOCG system once I started understanding it. | | | |
