Evening all... Daughter T-Rep is getting married on June 14th and just like I did for son T-Rep's marriage in July, I want to give my daughter and future son-in-law a bottle of wine from her birth year. In this case, I'm looking for something that's from 1980. Any suggestions on what might have aged pretty well for 27 years now and hasn't turned to vinegar? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. T-Rep

I agree. Yquem was not bad (a tad light) that year. Bordeaux have all gone to meet their makers. Burgundy too? The Diamond Creek cabs were good...

I don't know these specific wines, but these just came up from the latest Premier Cru emailer (these in stock, not pre-arrival):

1980 Caymus Cab for $65

1980 De Fargues for $89.99

Thanks all for your suggestions. My daughter isn't much of a red wine drinker so maybe the Yquem would be the best choice, albeit perhaps the most expensive of the choices....
