Do you have / see the need for both?

I'm getting ready to (re)order white wine stemware....and have previously only had the chard glasses in quantity.  Have some of the montrachet just for 'us'.

Glassware is glassware, so you won't notice a difference on the nose or the palette.  Burghound has a set of Montrachet glasses with a locking top though.  It is an ingenious design (tiny keys), and it will protect your investment.  I bought.

I have both. I typically would put a chardonnay that needs more air like Kistler in the bigger montrachet glass (Riedel Sommelier).

If you are speaking Riedel exclusively I would say that the difference between their Chard and Montrachet glass is going to be slight. I would disagree with Dave's statement that glassware is glassware. IMHO glassware can make a large difference in how a particular wine shows. I personally use (in non-blind tasting/drinking) either a Riedel Extreme Burg or a Vinum Burg glass for most Chards except for Chablis.

I note that the silly fad of including what wine glass was used to taste with is fading from amateur tasting notes. I'm glad.
