We all don't have a list of 100 like WIML's but everyone had wines that were memorable in 2006.

Below are my best wines of 2006. Offlines rock so if you haven't joined any yet this is your year to meet, greet, eat, drink and be merry.

Just for kicks. And like Joe's list I've asterisked the wines that others brought that I tasted, the offline and the person who brought it when I was able to remember. And there are repeats as there were multiple good bottles of the same wine.

And yes, I drink an embarrassing amount of good champagne.

My Top Ten of 2006:
1. 1990 Krug Champagne Brut
2. 1994 Harlan Estate * Santa Barbara, Davidn
3. 1990 Salon Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs * Dallas, wine+art
4. 1990 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape * Austin
5. 2003 Kongsgaard Chardonnay The Judge

7. 2001 Argiano Solengo Toscana IGT
8. 1995 Krug Champagne Brut
9. 1996 Taittinger Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs Comtes de Champagne * Santa Barbara
10. 1997 Château d'Yquem * Santa Barbara

You had 2 of my all timers this year:
1974 Heitz Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Martha's Vineyard
1834 Barbeito Madeira Malvasia
Out of the 12 times I have had the 74 Heitz MV I have had 9 amazing experiences, 2 good to great, and one serious bad wine (Storage?)

I only have 1 of each left in the cellar. I tried to buy more of the 1834 Barbeito when I was in Madeira 2 years ago, but the house is sold out

I was able to taste the 1834 Barbeito Madeira Malvasia because Bacar was pouring it by the glass -- a VERY expensive glass to be sure, but how many times do you have a chance to taste something like that? Sadly, they no longer offer it.

That averages out to a little over 10 per day...how do you do it? Are you in the business...a retailer...etc?

I am lucky to try 10 new wines per month, unless I get babysitting and go out to a tasting...

Bummer as I had plans to stop by Bacar tomorrow. Every time I ate at Rubicon, Larry Stone would send me over a half pour of it to finish off the meal.
